First week of community service!! I got placed at Vinnies Op Shop in Collingwood with Grace. The place was…interesting…ha! We got there 30 mins early and had to wait outside in the cold. When we went in we had to sort out clothes by the colour of the tags and it seemed to go on forever. Overall…it was Okay-ish
How are you feeling about your team project group and the preparation for your mini trail task? We havent done heaps of work on it yet, but im absolutely pumped for it!!
Do you think you have the potential to step up into a leadership role or will you be more of a supporting player? I would probably rather just be a supporting player than take up a leadership role!
Which experience stood out as a highlight this week? The Yarra River trail today. I really enjoyed majority of it and learning about the past of Melbourne and Aborigional land. Finding out about the land that we live on is pretty cool, and discovering some words that we use every day have an Aborigional background and mean something completely different.
Hi Emma,
The Koorie Heritage Walk is one of my all time favourite trails 🙂 I feel like I learn something new every time I go.
My suggestion about the op shop – embrace every opportunity that you get to develop your customer service and retail skills – it is one of the placements that has the most transferable skills for future part time work opportunities!
Great to hear you are feeling so positive about team project – this will be a big week for you – you might even discover your inner leader! I am sure that you will be an outstanding team player either way 🙂

Hihi,
Yeh the Korrie Walk is deffinately amazing and learning so much of the place we now call home is pretty awesome!
Aha Embrace it? sounds…difficult!
As for the team project! I’m happy to help with anything but I dont exactly think that I’ll be taking on a leaders role
Em
Emma – cool that you’re having fun at the trails. Maybe you should try interacting with the customers as well as just sorting clothes at comm service, good luck.
Francis.
Thanks, I might try that out next time, and hopefully i wont scare anybody away ha
Em.
I’m pretty sure it’s not them that will be scared. . .
