Futures week reflection

What was a standout moment for you during futures week? This week I really enjoyed going to go and see the future of printing. We got to see some 3D printing and it was amazing to think that in years to come it may be possible to actually print food! For me, its kind of a scary thought to think of the future, because our technology is growing so so much and its becoming apart of our daily lives.

Was there anything that you think should be included in every Galileo term? I think that there should sometimes have the students pick what theme the week is. I think that it would of been quite interesting to see what everybody wanted to do.

    Hi Emma,

We’ve received quite a lot of feedback from students about having a ‘student choice’ week – how do you see it working? Should we provide a range of topics and have you all vote on a week – the one with the most votes runs towards the end of term [so we have time to plan the curriculum]? Is there a fairer or funner [but functional] way that you imagine?

I was completely blown away by the 3D printing as well – it was so exciting & scary in terms of the capacity to print things that might create a more dangerous society….

So pleased that Galileo has been so fulfilling for you 🙂

    Your presentation yesterday was fantastic!

Well, with students choosing there should be a range of different topics and the most votes wins, for the students being able to study and investigate that certain topic for the week.
And thanks! I really enjoyed presenting to you and my parents!
      Em
